That Kid Kearve - Come Get It

Straight out the gate Kearve comes on the B.Hill Beats produced track HAARRD!! With a slick flow and rhyming scheme he makes it look effortless. Starting with a sick scheme blending colours with punchlines about money and drugs where he some how managed to throw an Oompa Loompa in the mix and later on talking about how much marijuana he's cut Edward Scissorhands. The rhyme scheme in the first 40 seconds easily blends so much together using 'er' and 'a' but he isn't just saying random words hes telling stories. The next scheme that needs mentioning is the lessons he's trying to teach. Calling out the guys wasting their money on designer gear and runnin' the ball rather than investing that money. TKK knows he has so much talent and he isn't afraid of both showing it off and reminding his 'competition' how good he is, which he does for most of the second half of the track. The visuals reminded me from scenes of the TV show Dexter, clean room, plastic wrap, tools to inflict pain and death. The whole thing, lyrics and visuals mirror each other in a way, he's proving a point he can lyrically murder his peers. The card games he's playing certainly don't match the lifestyle he's putting forward, methodical and calculated in the booth he is someone aspiring artists should use as inspiration.

DONDRINO ft Rops1 - Violate

Lets just get one thing out of the way first. Rops1 is underrated asf. As the piano and bassline starts on this drill beat Rops1 gets going, and he doesn't disappoint with his flow and speed. not too fast so you don't understand but damn this kid has some serious talent. Doing it in a rather unorthodox way he doesn't use many words that rhyme in consecutive lines, instead he uses his pronunciation and emphasis of certain letters in the words to make the lines fit together perfectly. 2 verses of absolute fire from Rops1 his second verse he managed a whole Pop Smoke scheme the could be looked at as being consecutive doubles 'Pop Smoke when we enter your party Nike tracksuit no Dior' This puts together Pop Smokes Welcome to The Party and Dior, all in a line that works amazingly. All in all whether he signs for these listening labels or not Rops1 has an extremely bright future! Lets not take anything away from Dondrino he slows the pace down a little but doesn't go any softer, bringing us the story of where he's come from and what he's achieved he's not afraid to let us know he's got some guys that'll do some bad deeds if called upon. Dondrino has a nice flow and cadence, over the drill beat it's not really a drill flow but it works. There's plenty of threats of retaliation to snitches including one of giving someone a third eye and shooting their house up. Visual wise, this is by The Last Addition, kind of trap house / drug factory esque with a twist of 1 female wrapping packs who then ends up on a leash being walked around and dipping low next to / by Dondrino.

Open Till L8 - Riot (feat. Hooligan Hefs)

Lets just start this one by the way it has been named, if you have seen my videos or Instagram posts I always try to tag as many behind the scenes people as possible. This track might still get called Riot by Hooligan Hefs in some peoples eyes but its actually a track by one of the most talented producers in Australia and I'm pleased he is the 'headline' name on this. Working together on many tracks in the past including bangers such as 'No Effect' 'Send It' 'IYKYK' and 'Tell Em I'm Doin Eeswa' this track follows on with a similar beat but still as effective. Although I'm a massive fan of HH doing his drill tracks these "Club Drill" tracks get the listener hyped asf! reminiscing of 90's UK Emceeing over house music this is a sound that works so well for Hefs. Starting off with warnings to anyone wanting to start anything he slickly fits in his diamond watch, teeth and the need to have a whole army of women for him and his boys. This for me isn't as iconic as some of the past projects but its still a club track that'll get feet on the dancefloor. some of the best lines on this come in the way of warnings such as 'Send em a message but we're not texting' and 'Only real hitters in my section, Shotguns spraying any direction, Won’t hesitate so don’t try testing'. All in all this is being released at a perfect time for me in the UK its a perfect track for pre drinks and sitting out in the sun. Big track by 2 big artists in their own right. Hefs is one of the most versatile artists out there right now and on top of his game.

TKO - When It Rains It Pours

Opening scenes straight from Sons Of Anarchy on this one and TKO wastes zero time with his immaculate flow. Lets not mess around TKO has one of the best flows in the game, starting out by talking about the fakes and frauds out there on the streets and how there's only certain people he can trust "chill with the bro's that I know gone back me not ones who aim for my spine and stab me." To be honest there's 3 guys stood behind him in the MV and these guys look ready to kick off at any minute! The vibe around the track centres on how real TKO is compared to the guys who just talk about how real they are and the fact the he is an OG in the streets a line such as "building your grades lad while I was in the back streets, driving to jobs you ain't even made the backseats" shows the younger generation that he was paving the way a long time before they got in the streets or in the booth to fabricate. TKO knows and mentions in a couple of lines about the risks of the streets / living and dying by the sword, in my personal opinion I think that's why he's aggravated with the guys that just say it on a track or just act as they are getting recognition for something they don't even do. This is a raw track that leaves nothing to the imagination. TKO is pissed.

Sydney Yungins Ft. Colcci LET IT BANG

Another summer sound with a headling producer on this weeks reactions and the melody on the hook by Titoez is sure to get bodies moving in the bars and clubs. In fact the whole production will do that, there's not a bad verse on this track each one with a slight different sound to the last so it gives it some contrast to the listener. Some of the funniest and truest lines on this one "established ourselves on the aus rap shelves, cuz your claiming your the shit, your whole rap smells" and "I ain't stopping until my mommy living lavish like a queen". This second line itself has one of the deepest meanings, anyone if they have the balls can pull a trigger or sling drugs etc that's not an accomplishment but if you do something that helps your family or those closest to you that is an achievement not everyone can do. To get your mum out the hood, buy her a house, that's meaningful. Sydney Yungins for as long as I have been listening have always had good tracks and I think this is one of the better ones, although there are a few 'blanket' warnings to anyone wanting to start anything I think its more light hearted these guys just want a good time. There's bars and notable lines in every verse and their flows / melodies have grown with their status, perfect melodies to partner with Colcci's production have created a memorable party track. As far as the MV goes, plenty of summertime fun, motorbikes, alcohol, puppies, women and a cameo by Day1 bring the whole production together.

BALLY BOY - Necessary

Taken from his LOC4L LUN4TIC LP Bally Boy has got some big names included in this production such as the guys behind the forthcoming 'Neverland' movie (Biordi, Lowkee and more). This in my personal opinion is Bally Boy telling us the story of how he needed to go through the hardest times in his life to get to where he is today. It was Necessary. Coming out with similar melodies and a catchy hook like his 'All Out' track this is without a doubt one of his best tracks so far. However I do say this without listening to any other track on his new album but I'm confident. Using the title of one of his previous tracks (Cops and Robbers) he plays on the words to make a scheme about his hatred for the police and how he now manages to duck, dive and remain free in the streets. I don't really know what category to place Bally Boy in, he cant really be pigeon holed, a mix of rap/drill and singing makes him stand out from other artists. From all the hooks and melodies in this years releases Bally Boy has some of the best. Mentioning being around criminals all his life and that's all he knows, the track is full of nods to criminal activities he may or may not have been active in or still has a hand in, this goes well with the music video which like i first said has a big production team behind it. Robberies / burning of evidence and evading capture make for a quick movie that fits perfectly. I've said it on every track I've done that involve Biordi, they have some serious talent signed to them and big futures in the music business and soon to be film business.

Sarkodie - No Fugazy

Well, well, well. This track over the afrobeats sound is an instant classic with some great punchlines. Sarkodie may be a name that's not familiar with many readers, one of the biggest artists from Africa, he some times goes by the moniker 'King Sark' and pulls in numbers such as he has with this track, nearly half a million views within a few days at the time of writing. Sarkodie comes straight out with his slick flow talking about his drip and style, mentioning how back in the day he rocked fakes, he's now stepping outta Lambo trucks in the freshest of fashion. Quirky lines that include how you wont be able to pay bills if you try keep up to him, or how you'll need a Go Fund Me page or copping gear from Ebay whilst sprinkling in some designer names. Switching between English and his native language, this is a fun track with an upbeat tempo, Fugazy (meaning fake) is everything Sarkodie is proving he is not and he takes pride in this fact. Wearing the designs that are reserved for 'Rockstars' and walking slow whilst looking good to show it off is what he is about nowadays, this is just a reminder of where he is now compared to where he used to be and many people still are.
